Practical, personalised support to help you build skills, overcome everyday challenges and do more of what matters to you.
At HYPE*, Occupational Therapy is about understanding the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a list of challenges.
We take the time to understand your strengths, interests, goals, environment and the things that matter to you and your family.
From building independence and everyday skills to navigating changes at home, school or in the community, we provide practical and individualised support that works for real life.
Everyone’s needs are different, and they can change over time. Our approach is flexible and personalised, we work with you and your family to understand what’s happening now, where you’d like to go and what support will make the biggest difference.
With over 10 years of experience across different settings and stages of life, our Occupational Therapist brings practical knowledge and problem-solving skills to each person and family.
This includes experience across early intervention, preschool and school settings, the NDIS, complex behavioural support, daily living and personal care. We don’t expect everyone to fit into the same approach, we adapt strategies, goals and supports to suit the individual, and work at a pace that feels realistic and achievable.
Occupational Therapy can support people to build skills and confidence across different areas of everyday life. Depending on your individual needs and goals, support may include:
We’ll work with you to understand which areas are most important and build support around your individual goals.
Needs change as people grow, and having experience across different settings and stages can make a big difference.
Our Occupational Therapist has experience supporting people and families through early intervention, preschool, starting and navigating school, NDIS supports, daily living and more complex support needs.
This experience helps us look at the bigger picture, identify what might be getting in the way and find practical ways forward.
Sometimes families already have a long list of appointments, therapy goals and things they’re expected to work on. We don’t want to add more pressure.
Instead, we focus on practical strategies that can fit into everyday life. If something isn’t working, we’ll look at it differently, problem-solve with you and adjust the approach when needed.
Goals aren’t set in stone. As circumstances, priorities or capacity change, our support can change too, the aim is to make progress feel achievable while recognising and celebrating the small wins along the way.
Good Occupational Therapy doesn’t happen in isolation. We understand that parents and families are an important part of the process, which is why we take the time to listen, explain things clearly and make sure you feel involved in decisions.
You won’t be overwhelmed with unnecessary professional jargon. We’ll communicate in a way that makes sense, recognise that every family’s capacity is different, and keep our approach supportive and realistic without judgement or pressure.
Sometimes the challenge isn’t knowing what support is needed, it’s navigating everything around it. Where appropriate, we can work alongside families, schools, the NDIS and other professionals involved in your support.
We can help you understand information, communicate your needs and advocate for supports that make sense for you or your child. Having everyone working towards the same goals can make the process feel clearer and more manageable.
Before we can provide meaningful support, we need to understand the person we’re supporting. We take the time to learn about their interests, motivations, strengths, communication and what makes them who they are.
For children in particular, building trust and connection is an important part of creating a space where they can feel comfortable, understood and supported.
It’s not about finding a problem to solve. It’s about seeing the person first and working together to help them build the skills and confidence they need.
Whether you’re starting Occupational Therapy for the first time, moving into a new stage of life or looking for a different approach, together, we’ll focus on what matters to you, find practical ways through the barriers and work towards meaningful goals at a pace that works for you.
Let’s talk about what’s important to you and how Occupational Therapy at HYPE* can support you or your family.
