OUR SERVICES
Behaviour Support
Positive, practical and individualised support that looks beyond behaviour to understand the whole person, helping you overcome barriers and create the life YOU want.
We understand that behaviours of concern are part of the picture, but they’re not the whole story.
At HYPE*, we look beyond behaviour to understand the person behind it.
We take the time to learn what matters to you, your strengths, interests, motivations, needs and the environment around you.
By seeing the whole picture, we can provide practical, positive and individualised support that works for you and the people who support you.
Understanding behaviours and Behaviour Support
Behaviour support starts with understanding, not judgement. We work with you, your family and the people around you to understand what may be contributing to behaviours of concern and what those behaviours may be communicating.
We take the time to understand the individual rather than applying a standard set of strategies. This helps us develop practical, personalised supports that can make everyday life feel more manageable.
Behaviours of concern might:
- Limit where someone can go or what they can do
- Cause physical harm to themselves or others
- Create psychological distress
- Affect learning, relationships, and participation in everyday life
Our approach is positive and outcome-focused. We work towards meaningful goals while staying flexible and adjusting strategies as your needs, circumstances and capacity change.
From here, we build a plan that includes:
Proactive Strategies
Reducing the chances of behaviour occurring
Response Strategies
Supporting the person in the moment
Skill Building
Teaching skills that work better for them
Our approach to Behaviour Support
At HYPE*, Behaviour Support isn’t about applying the same strategies to every person. We take the time to understand you as an individual, your strengths, needs, interests, environment and the people who are important to you.
Our approach is positive, practical and flexible. Goals and strategies can change as your needs change, and we work at a pace that feels realistic for you and your family.
We also understand that families can feel overwhelmed by appointments, goals, systems and professional jargon. That’s why we focus on clear communication, practical solutions and genuine support without judgement.
We work collaboratively with families, schools, the NDIS and other professionals to help everyone feel informed, supported and confident moving forward.

We Look at the Whole Picture
- What’s happening in the environment?
- Are there unmet needs?
- Could sensory processing, apraxia, or motor planning challenges be involved?
- Are there underlying medical conditions?
- What emotional factors might be at play?
- What interests, strengths and motivations are important to the person?
- Most importantly, what can we change or teach to help this person feel safe, understood, and supported?
We Meet You Where Your Are
